The Connect Trade Union is involved in a number of Campaigns and have formed strategic alliances Globally to protect the interests of our members and for fairer social policies.
  • We have endorsed motions to end the exploitation of workers thorugh the Jobbridge, Gateway and Internships programmes and other forced labour schemes.
  • We oppose the privatisation of Public entities and the damage it inflicts on workers where the only objective is profit at any cost to the workers involved. These schemes undermine our hard won rates of pay and conditions and are just profit enhancing mechanisms for unscrupulous employers.
  • We are calling on the Government to start a social housing programme as a matter of urgency as many workers can no longer afford mortgages to buy or building a house of their own.
